Committed to Community
34 years ago, my wife, Susan, and I had recently been married and I had just graduated from law school. We had some choices to make. Where did we want to put down roots? Where did we want to raise a family?

We came to Lancaster in 1988 because we fell in love with this city, with its strong sense of community, and most importantly, with its people. We decided to raise our four kids here. We built our livelihoods here. We saw Lancaster then, as we do now, as a place of opportunity. A town to be proud of.
​
Since then, we have come to love and appreciate this town even more. That's why I decided to run for mayor. The past four years have been tough, but we've gotten through it together. "If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together."

Together, we are moving Lancaster forward. Together, we are making Lancaster a place of opportunity. Together, we are building a better tomorrow.

Preparing Lancaster for tomorrow's jobs, today
Mayor DeVenny has built a growth economy in the Red Rose City. Since he took office in 2018, there has been over $600,000,000 worth of large industry growth, including E. & J. Gallo, Nutramax, MUSC, Adornus, and others. Our small businesses and legacy companies also continue to thrive in our growing economy!
Infrastructure
Building a better Lancaster for families and industry
Mayor DeVenny is proud to support and strengthen the existing City infrastructure - for businesses and residents. Since 2018, we've begun a multi-million dollar upgrade of the sewer treatment plant and added miles of new sewer and water lines that have paved the way for residential, commercial, and industrial growth. More work needs to be done. It’s not shiny, but Mayor DeVenny knows that strong water and sewer capacity are key to development and growth.
Community Building
Making Lancaster a safe, clean, and healthy place for families
Mayor DeVenny has raised four children in the City and recognizes the importance of public-private partnerships in a thriving community. Since 2018, the Cultural Arts Center, the Lindsay Pettus Greenway, the up-fitted County Library, and new public parks provide space for our community to connect with neighbors. Mayor DeVenny knows how to connect with our residents - he invited community members to give input on reimagining and revitalizing our downtown - and despite the pandemic, new developments continue emerging from these community conversations.

Ensuring Lancaster's taxes and regulations are fair and balanced
Mayor DeVenny is an experienced leader in both the public and private sector. He understands revenue development and budgeting. He has ensured our City has maximized the resources available to Lancaster, while also balancing the needs of our employees, businesses, and residents. Accountability and a thriving City go hand-in-hand, and we are in good financial shape in the Red Rose City!
